Read. Write. Share!
The mission of the Read.Write.Share! project is to engage and motivate fifth grade students in a novel way to share their reading and writing experiences. Students are provided creative opportunities to share their stories through the use of a variety of digital mediums, such as podcasts and movie trailers. They are challenged to think critically as they analyze which medium would best share their information and how to bring their ideas to a successful completion.

Additionally, this project encourages collaboration and communication as they work together on projects and share their ideas on the class wiki space. The private wiki provides a space for all students to publish their projects, ideas, reflections, and questions with each other, parents, and teachers. This interactive approach creates "expert" students who can then help others, thus creating an atmosphere of support and excitement about learning to use digital technology to enhance learning of the common core standards. Inherent to this project is the focus on encouraging students to be risk-takers, to persist when new learning is difficulty or unclear, and to understand the value of learning through trial and error.
